Has the bike got the alarm plugs fitted? Study the photos on this page. It is not listed by Yamaha or Meta but it may well fit if the plugs are fitted

QUOTE(TSM @ Aug 28 2010, 11:13 AM) *
the way System 4 alarms do it now would be good, if you have the fob then you can change the pin code if you dont know it otherwise you are stuffed

That's handy for a thief or an unscrupulous dealer who manages to get hold of one of the fobs!!!

Firstly do you have the 5 digit override pin number, if not I suggest you replace it with a new DefcomT which will be a simple plug & play swap over, if you have the pincode purchase a replacement LED here & once installed recode the fobs using the instructions found here.

Oh if life was so easy the thieves would have a field day, sorry there is no way to recover the pincode once lost. I can supply you with a replacement alarm unit (complete with 2 fobs & pincode) which will plug straight into your existing loom, more info

To re-code or code in a fob to Selca alarms/immobilisers either a working touchkey or a working fob is required, if either are missing it will not be possible unless the alarm is the Splitt 88 model which requires a 5 digit pin code. The FC range requires a working fob, the IM3.22 & FM7.11u & FC6.71 require a working touchkey

Sounds like the alarm has lost it's code for the fobs, the only action is to have the alarm re-coded, more info. It also sounds like the siren has gone kaput the answer is to replace it, depending on which model M99 alarm you have a siren can be found either here or here.

It is unusual for the M36 immobiliser to have an intermittent fault, when they go faulty which is not very often its usually big time. I suggest you trak down the ignition/feul circuit immobiliser and bypass it using a loop, if the fault remains its a problem with the car.

View from the rear of the plug means exactly that, where the wires protrude away from it. The whole point of bypassing the alarm is to use the bike with the alarm removed.

Download the M357 pinout table from the members area which has simple to follow instructions on how to bypass the alarm. If you want the entire loom to be removed tread carefully as many wires are required for the engine to run properly.

Sounds like a problem with the bike, if it starts and runs ok but cuts out when in gear does sound like the sidestand switch or similar is faulty

For some strange reason cars fitted with alarms seem to be much less prone to be broken into. So I guess alarms can be an effective form of deterrent.

If the indicaters flash but there is no sound when the alarm is triggered suggests the siren is either disconnected or faulty. Replacement sirens can be purchased here

The brown/red wire outputs a negative when armed. You'll have to convert this to a positive.

If aftermarket electric windows are fitted you'll need a window closure module, the only one which will work with the nd5 is the Meta M8
